Fruit Whitening

MYTH This claim is false

The Claim

"You're rubbing strawberries on your teeth. Which is acid. And sugar. On your teeth."

The Truth

Strawberries contain citric acid and malic acid. Acids dissolve enamel.

They also contain sugar. Sugar feeds the bacteria that cause cavities.

So you’re dissolving your enamel while feeding cavity bacteria. Double destruction.

Banana peels? “Minerals whiten teeth!” Zero scientific evidence. None. Complete internet folklore.

Orange peels? Even more acidic than strawberries.

“But it’s natural!” Arsenic is natural. Poison ivy is natural. Natural doesn’t mean safe.

Professional whitening uses peroxide compounds that break down stain molecules without dissolving tooth structure.

You’re not whitening. You’re marinating your teeth in fruit acid. Stop.
