Magic Eraser
MYTH This claim is false
The Claim
"People are rubbing a product on their teeth that the box specifically says will cause injury. The box. Says this."
The Truth
Magic Erasers contain melamine foam. Works by being extremely abrasive. Great for bathtubs. Catastrophic for teeth.
They also contain formaldehyde. Classified as a human carcinogen. By three different agencies.
The warning label literally says “DO NOT USE ON SKIN OR OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY.”
Teeth are parts of your body. Gums are skin.
You swallow particles mixed with saliva. Hello nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
The ADA responded to this trend. Their statement was basically “what the hell are you doing.”
You’re scrubbing a carcinogen on your teeth because of a TikTok. Read the box.
